Activated charcoal
Activated charcoal is carbon from sources such as wood or coconut shells, treated at high heat to give it a very porous surface that binds other substances.
A supplement is not emergency treatment
Over-the-counter tablets and charcoal used in emergency care differ in formulation and amounts. Poison Control advises against treating a poisoning at home with these products. Burned toast and barbecue charcoal are not substitutes. 1
