Bladderwrack

Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) is a brown seaweed from the coasts of the North Atlantic and Baltic Sea that naturally contains iodine.

Also listed as Fucus Vesiculosis, Organic Bladderwrack, Bladderwrack Powder, Bladderwrack Extract

Seaweed milligrams do not tell the whole story

EMA’s monograph specifies an iodine-content range for medicinal bladderwrack powder and limits iodine from Fucus-containing medicines to 400 micrograms daily. This is a product-specific medicinal limit, not a recommended iodine intake or permission to combine several iodine products. The iodine amount matters alongside the weight of the seaweed. 1
