Boswellia is the resin of Boswellia trees, mainly Boswellia serrata, also known as frankincense. It is mostly studied for inflammation and osteoarthritis pain.

Why two labels may not describe the same product

Resin powder and extracts can differ substantially in composition. The German Verbraucherzentrale cautions that results obtained with a particular extract cannot simply be transferred to other products or doses. A percentage of boswellic acids alone does not make two preparations equivalent. 1
