Are the same compounds in food?

Procyanidins also occur in foods such as berries, apples, nuts and cocoa. That overlap does not make a serving of those foods equivalent to the standardized bark extract used in trials: the review describes different extract mixtures and concentrations. The research here concerns those preparations, not a food-based Pycnogenol dose. 1
