Baikal skullcap

Baikal skullcap, Scutellaria baicalensis, is a plant of the mint family whose root is used in traditional Chinese medicine. It contains flavonoids such as baicalin.

An osteoarthritis supplement containing skullcap has been studied, but the results cannot identify what skullcap would do on its own. Root preparations, isolated compounds and multi-herb products should not be treated as the same intervention. 1
