Oil, powdered seeds and extracts are not interchangeable

The diabetes review includes 2 g daily of powdered seeds in capsules and separate trials using oil. A capsule describes the container, not what is inside. Comparing a label with a study means identifying the plant preparation as well as its amount. 1

What a quality check can and cannot tell you

LactMed notes that supplement contents may differ from their labels. Independent testing can check product quality, but does not certify that a product is safe or effective. Results for one formulation may not apply to another. 2

Filtered or unfiltered?

Filtering removes suspended material: filtered culinary oil is lighter, while unfiltered oil is darker, thicker and stronger tasting. BZfE suggests cool, dark storage after opening, with about three months of keeping time. These are kitchen characteristics, not evidence that one version treats disease better. 3
