D-Mannose
D-mannose is a simple sugar related to glucose, found in small amounts in fruits such as cranberries and apples. It is mostly studied for urinary tract infections.
What did the trial establish about safety?
No serious adverse event was judged related to D-mannose in the UK trial. Pregnant and breastfeeding women were excluded, so this finding does not establish safety for them. 1
