Bleeding risk deserves attention

Ginkgo can increase bleeding risk with anticoagulants such as warfarin and may interact with other medicines. NCCIH recommends discussing use with a healthcare professional when taking medication. Common adverse effects include dizziness, digestive symptoms and headache. 1

Who needs extra caution?

NCCIH warns that use during pregnancy may be unsafe because of possible early labor or bleeding around delivery. Safety during breastfeeding is poorly understood. EMA limits its assessed medicinal uses to adults. 1 2
