What about side effects?

The broader review reported mild, temporary digestive symptoms in one extract study. Cochrane emphasized that its included trial did not report safety outcomes adequately. Together, these findings support caution about calling all preparations safe for long-term use. 1 2

How does it fit with blood-pressure care?

NCCIH advises people with hypertension to follow their prescribed treatment plan and discuss supplements with their health care provider. Hibiscus research does not establish that it offers the same protection as blood-pressure medication. 3
