What does the safety evidence cover?
NIH describes studies using 3 g daily for three to eight weeks without adverse changes in blood chemistry, blood-cell measurements or mood. This is reassuring for the adult groups studied, but does not establish safety for years of use or for adolescents. Trial amounts are not a personal dosing recommendation. 1
