Who needs particular caution?
EMA does not recommend medicinal use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or in children under 12, because data are inadequate. Allergy to lemon balm is a contraindication. Its assessment also notes possible added drowsiness with alcohol or sedating medicines. 1
When symptoms continue
EMA advises seeking medical or qualified health-professional advice if symptoms persist beyond two weeks of use. Traditional availability does not remove the need to assess ongoing symptoms. 2
