Kidney disease and medicines matter

Noni contains substantial potassium. NCCIH advises people with kidney disease or a potassium restriction to consult their healthcare provider, and flags potential interactions with medicines that raise potassium, lower blood pressure or harm the liver. Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety is poorly understood. 1

How should liver reports be understood?

Cases of liver toxicity have been reported after noni juice or tea, although causation remains unclear. EFSA’s 2006 review found no convincing causal link in the reports then available. These statements preserve both the safety signal and its uncertainty. 1 2
