What did the smoker study find?
A placebo-controlled trial tested 29.5 or 118 mL of noni juice daily for one month in heavy smokers; 245 participants completed it. Markers of oxidative DNA damage decreased. This was a biomarker study, not a trial showing fewer cancers or protection from the health effects of smoking. 1
The finding supports further research, with uncertain relevance outside heavy smokers and this juice preparation. 1
