Is long-term use established as safe?
The safety review found mostly mild reported adverse effects but insufficient long-term data for doses of at least 1,000 mg beyond 12 weeks. Animal findings raise questions about pre-existing kidney damage and estrogen-dependent tumors; they do not establish these harms in humans. 1
Can medicines interact?
MSK reports increased anticoagulation in a warfarin case and laboratory interactions with drug-metabolizing enzymes. Clinical relevance varies, so medication review matters before supplementation, particularly during cancer treatment. 2
