What is known about tolerability?
The 84-day joint trial reported no serious adverse events, with side effects not disproportionate between groups. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and significant liver or kidney disease were excluded, so those groups are not covered by its reassuring findings. 1
What about use alongside medicines?
BfR advises discussing longer-term supplement use alongside medicines with the treating clinician because interactions can affect treatment. German supplements do not undergo medicine-style premarket approval demonstrating safety. 2
