Bifidobacterium longum

Bifidobacterium longum is a bacterial species that lives naturally in the human gut and is used in probiotic products. Effects can depend on the specific strain.

Can yogurt supply the same strain?

Yogurt may contain added bifidobacteria, but its standard starter cultures are different organisms. Fermentation alone does not establish that a food contains a studied B. longum strain. 1
