Lactoferrin

Lactoferrin is an iron-binding protein found in human and cow's milk, saliva and tears. It is studied for its roles in microbial defense and inflammation.

Where does it occur in food?

Lactoferrin occurs naturally in mammalian milk, with concentrations differing by species and stage of lactation. A glass of milk should not be treated as a standardized supplement dose. 1
