Protein
Protein
Protein is a macronutrient made of chains of amino acids, found in foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy, legumes and grains.
Is whey different from casein?
Both are milk proteins. Casein is digested more slowly than whey; supplements also use plant proteins and blends. Foods can supply the extra protein athletes need, with supplements an option when food intake falls short. 1
