Soy Isoflavones
Soy isoflavones are plant compounds in soybeans, mainly genistein, daidzein and glycitein. Because they resemble estrogen in structure, they are called phytoestrogens.
Also listed as Genistein, Genistin, Daidzein, Daidzin
Isoflavones also come with food
The University of Florida’s USDA-based table lists 28 mg isoflavonoids in one cup of cooked edamame and 26 mg in one cup of original or vanilla soy milk. These food-table amounts describe specific foods, not a standardized supplement dose. 1
