Enzyme
Ubiquinol
Ubiquinol is the reduced form of coenzyme Q10, a fat-soluble compound the body makes itself and uses for energy production in mitochondria.
Medicines matter
Q10 can interact with warfarin and insulin, and it may be incompatible with some cancer treatments. NCCIH reports possible digestive upset and insomnia. These cautions apply when considering ubiquinol as a Q10 product, even though it is sold as a supplement. 1
