A digestive-symptom trial
A six-week placebo-controlled trial analyzed 244 people with functional dyspepsia, meaning persistent upper-abdominal digestive symptoms: the tested extract improved symptoms and quality of life more than placebo. This is encouraging evidence for that preparation and duration, not a guarantee for every product. 1
A cholesterol signal
A 2021 meta-analysis of 14 studies pooled artichoke extracts or juice and found LDL cholesterol about 17.5 mg/dL lower than control. Its outcome was a blood marker; the analysis does not establish fewer heart attacks. 2
