Carnosine
Carnosine is a dipeptide of the amino acids beta-alanine and histidine that is abundant in muscle. The body makes it and also gets it from food.
Also listed as L-Carnosine
Food amounts vary widely
Beef contains carnosine, but published values differ greatly with the cut and measurement method. The nutrition review reports no established dietary requirement for carnosine. Its presence in food does not translate into a daily supplement target. 1
