DIM
DIM (diindolylmethane) is a compound formed when indole-3-carbinol, found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage, breaks down.
Also listed as Diindolylmethane
Does the formulation matter?
Many human studies used absorption-enhanced BioResponse-DIM rather than plain crystalline DIM. The systematic review describes differences between formulations, so a study of one preparation does not establish equivalent effects for every product. Better absorption also does not itself prove better health outcomes. 1
How much has been studied?
The cervical trial used 150 mg daily for six months; the tamoxifen trial used 150 mg twice daily for a year. These were research protocols in specific populations, not general dosing recommendations. 2 3
