Genistein
Genistein is an isoflavone, a plant compound found mainly in soybeans that can bind to estrogen receptors.
Where does it occur in food?
Soy foods, including tofu and tempeh, contain genistein. The review distinguishes dietary exposure from isolated supplements; a serving of soy food is not interchangeable with the purified preparation used in a clinical trial. 1
