Also listed as GSE, OPC-3, Oligomeric Procyanidins, Procyanidin

Who should check before using it?

Grape seed extract is generally well tolerated, but NCCIH advises discussing use with a health professional when taking medicines. Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding is poorly understood. 1

What do high-dose safety observations tell us?

The Freiburg review describes 29 healthy adults studied for four weeks at 1,000 to 2,500 mg of extract daily. Two people at 2,500 mg had serum iron fall to the lower limit; levels later normalized. These experimental doses are not intake recommendations. 2
