What to compare on the label
The sleep trial tested a named extract at 20 and 30 mg daily, while the stress trial used 30 mg daily of its specified preparation. These amounts describe the research and do not establish a universal dose. Matching the plant name alone does not show that a different powder or blend reproduces those results. 1 2
Where established care fits
Depression care can include guided self-help, exercise, psychological therapy and medicines, depending on severity. NHS guidance notes that combined antidepressant treatment and cognitive behavioral therapy can be more effective than either alone in more severe depression.
