Fiber
Inulin
Inulin is a soluble dietary fiber made of chains of fructose, found in chicory root, onions and garlic. Commercial inulin mostly comes from chicory.
Does the EFSA amount apply to every fiber powder?
The opinion concerns native chicory inulin, a defined mixture with a mean chain length of at least nine units. Its 12 g daily amount should not be treated as an equivalent dose for unrelated fibers or every fructan mixture. 1
