Fatty acid
Omega-3 Phospholipids
Omega-3 phospholipids are EPA or DHA bound to phospholipid molecules rather than a separate omega-3 fatty acid. Krill oil contains omega-3s mainly in this form.

Do food tables identify the phospholipid fraction?
NIH’s food table reports EPA and DHA rather than a separate phospholipid-bound amount. For example, 3 ounces of cooked Atlantic herring provide 0.94 g DHA and 0.77 g EPA. Those numbers describe the fatty acids supplied, not how much is carried in phospholipids, and cannot be used as a phospholipid dose. 1
