What did EFSA consider safe?
EFSA’s 2016 conclusion found no safety concern at the proposed 150 mg adult intake for that synthetic ingredient. This was a preparation-specific safety assessment, not a universal upper limit or an effective anti-aging dose. At 1 g daily or more, uncontrolled studies reported diarrhea and other digestive symptoms. 1
Which interactions deserve attention?
MSK warns of possible increased bleeding with anticoagulants such as warfarin. EFSA also identifies potential interaction with medicines metabolized by CYP2C9, an enzyme involved in drug breakdown. 1 2
