What do the diabetes studies show?
A 2025 review combined six trials with 533 people with type 2 diabetes. Resveratrol lowered CRP, an inflammation marker, and several oxidative-stress measures. Evidence certainty was low or very low, so these laboratory changes remain preliminary rather than proof of fewer complications. 1
Lower CRP in this diabetes population is a promising biomarker finding with low-certainty evidence. 1
Several markers improved, but the findings do not establish a general health benefit. 1
Does the longevity idea survive human testing?
The yeast findings are a reason to investigate aging pathways, not a result about human lifespan. MSK also describes inconsistent metabolic findings and no significant cognitive benefit in a meta-analysis and several later trials in older adults. 2
What is outside this review?
This profile does not assess liver-disease treatment or infection prevention.
