What did the inflammation trial find?
In a 42-day trial, 36 adults with knee osteoarthritis received burdock tea or hot water alongside the same medication regimen. Tea provided 2 g root per cup, three times daily. Several inflammation and oxidative-stress markers improved; glutathione peroxidase did not improve significantly. The study concerned blood markers, not proof of joint repair. 1
Preliminary changes in blood markers in knee osteoarthritis; broader clinical benefit remains uncertain. 1
