Fiber
Guar gum
Guar gum is a soluble dietary fiber from the seeds of the guar plant, a legume. It is widely used as a thickener in foods.
Why is it on food labels?
Guar gum is used as the food additive E 412. EFSA found no safety concern at assessed food-additive exposures in the general population; that assessment is distinct from taking concentrated supplements. 1
