What did the fatty-liver trial show?
A trial in 44 adults with overweight or obesity and fatty liver tested 100 mg twice daily for four weeks. Liver-fat grades and several cholesterol measures improved versus placebo, but liver enzymes and the fibrosis score did not. The short, small trial cannot establish lasting protection against liver complications. 1
An early signal for liver-fat grading coexisted with unchanged liver enzymes and fibrosis scores. 1
What does the absorption study add?
Eighteen healthy adults received single doses of 150–900 mg in an orange extract. Blood exposure increased with dose, without relevant adverse events or blood-safety changes over the short observation period. This measured absorption and tolerability, not treatment of disease. 2
