What does magnesium contribute?
Aspartate is one of the forms used to supply magnesium in supplements. 1
Magnesium participates in muscle contraction, nerve signaling and bone mineralization. These normal functions explain why adequate intake matters; they do not establish extra benefits from a particular supplement form. 2

Questions people ask
Is aspartate absorbed better than oxide?
In the cited volunteer study it was, while absorption was similar to chloride and lactate. That does not demonstrate better symptom relief. 3
Does 350 mg mean a daily supplement dose?
No. The DGE value for adult men refers to total intake, including food. 4
Why can supplements cause diarrhea?
Extra magnesium can cause diarrhea; BfR uses this effect when recommending a maximum supplemental daily amount of 250 mg. 2
