Does it raise testosterone?
A placebo-controlled trial in healthy men aged 45–55 found higher total and free testosterone after 90 days of purified shilajit, 250 mg twice daily. Hormone changes do not by themselves demonstrate better libido or treatment of testosterone deficiency. 1
What about bone density?
In 60 postmenopausal women with osteopenia, 250 or 500 mg standardized extract daily for 48 weeks reduced bone-density loss compared with placebo. Inflammatory and oxidative-stress markers also improved. This trial measured density and biomarkers, not proof of fewer fractures. 2
A promising finding in a small, specific population needs confirmation. 2
Where do memory claims come from?
A review describes laboratory work in which fulvic acid interfered with aggregation of tau, a protein studied in Alzheimer’s disease. This mechanism is a research lead, not demonstrated dementia prevention in people. 3
